Steve Hankin's "The Collection" has a prominenet spot in his home.

Hankin, 58, says any artist who creates large works has a storage problem. When he decides to change the decor in his Point Breeze home, he often brings several paintings in from his studio/gallery in back and tries them out.
...
For his house, Hankin usually chooses works that have personal meaning. In a corner of the living room, for instance, a 1994 self-portrait of him painting shirtless faces "Kate in Florence," a painting of his daughter in Italy when she was 13.

"Everyone comes out with a smile," Hankin says, smiling.

But the vast majority of artwork is by Hankin.

"I'm totally attached to my work and totally competitive," he says.
